Verulamium Park

Verulamiuim park is set in over 100 acres of beautiful parkland and was named after the Roman city of Verulamium on which it stands. Part of the city walls and an outline of the main London Gate can still be seen today along with an original Roman mosaic floor and its underfloor heating system.

With magnificient views of the Cathedral and Abbey church take a stroll down to the ornamental lake and walk alongside the River Ver and look out for a wealth of waterbirds including swans, ducks,coots and great crested grebes to name but a few.

The Park with its history and wildlife also plays host to special events during the year including a spectacular firework display in November. Sport is also a major player with football pitches, cricket pitches, tennis basketball and netball courts.
